Make your own sustainable espadrille shoes

Sunday 26 January
Workshop The Create Place, 29 Old Ford Rd, London E2 9PJ 11:00AM - 2:00PM £80

Learn to hand-stitch your very own pair of bespoke and upcycled leather, or vegan leather, espadrille shoes with social enterprise Juta Shoes on 22nd September at The Create Place, London.

Juta Shoes are hosting a unique event, teaching you how to repurpose old materials!

You don't need to be a skilled seamstress to attend, Juta will support you through every step of the process. They will show you how to:

  • Select the right size of fabric.
  • Choose your colour and material from Juta’s range of reclaimed and vegan leathers
  • Help you put all the pieces together of course!

A delicious vegan lunch will be included on the day.

No experience is necessary and you’ll walk out wearing a brand-new pair of bespoke shoes! Advance booking is, however, essential for this event.

Juta Shoes is an award-winning social enterprise in East London. They empower women who face barriers to work. They do this by offering them well-paid work making handcrafted, eco-friendly espadrilles and teaching shoemaking workshops.

In London, one in five jobs are paid below the London Living Wage, and 75% of women born in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Somalia are not in work.

By signing up for this event, you will be helping Juta Shoes on their mission to combat social and economic exclusion caused by lack of access to fairly paid work.
