Looking for sustainable headphones but don't know where to start? Turn on, tune in and check out.
House Of Marley get their name from the legendary Bob Marley, and embody his respect for the earth and its people.
Of course, Bob Marley was also known for his music, and that’s why House Of Marley are the producers of high-quality headphones, speakers, and other music technology.
I've been putting the House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds through their paces but first...
What are House Of Marley headphones made from?
House Of Marley creates their products with mindfully sourced, sustainable materials.
One of these materials commonly used in their products is bamboo; bamboo is the world’s fastest growing plant and is a highly renewable and maintainable natural resource.
Bamboo is also incredibly strong, making it a long lasting and sturdy material for hardware.
House Of Marley also have their own REWIND™ fabric that is weaved from recycled materials. Comprising:
30% reclaimed organic cotton
30% reclaimed hemp
and 40% recycled PET
REWIND™ fabric allows the brand to directly source materials that would otherwise be wasted.
Recycled PET is also used on its own, alongside other recycled materials like:
wood fibre composite
their REGRIND™ Silicone
For any materials that aren’t recycled, they are sustainably sourced like their FSC® certified wood, organic cork and organic cotton.
What’s great about these materials is that they are not only sustainable and ethically sourced, but they are also meant to last a lifetime.
Who does House Of Marley support?
Through their Project Marley Global Giving initiative, House Of Marley supports global reforestation and ocean preservation projects, with the aim to encourage biodiversity and stability in our planet’s ecosystems.
House Of Marley are active supporters of One Tree Planted, having planted 340,400 trees since 2017 there are plans to plant 37,600 more trees in the coming month in impacted areas that need support.
They also support the Surfrider Foundation in their global mission to protect the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches through activist work that aims to encourage a new generation of ocean conservationists.
Some of the ways in which this is achieved is by eliminating plastic pollution and protecting clean water amongst other campaigns.
Moreover, they have extensive policies that reassure customers that environmentally and climate-wise House Of Marley are developing strategies and programmes to reduce their carbon footprint.
Likewise, with respect to ethics and modern slavery, House Of Marley are committed to ensuring that people and communities all throughout the supply chain are treated fairly.
Finally, every purchase made helps to plant trees across the globe.
Is House Of Marley a good audio brand?
House Of Marley prides themselves on their long lasting products and, of course, their great sounding audio technology.
Their high-performance audio products are engineered to reproduce music to the best quality possible making the music both smooth and powerful.
Each audio system undergoes a custom tuning to deliver the most realistic performances possible.

For example, users of their Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds can experience full customisation of sound through their House Of Marley app.
Likewise, the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Echo Noise Cancellation (ENC) allows the users to eradicate any distractions from the outside world.
House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds Review
Sitting a little bigger than an Airpods case the House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds are a handy sustainable headphones option.
The black case feels sturdy and is made from recycled plastic and sustainably sourced wood fibre, and my immediate thought is it it feels lovely to hold. Three sizes of soft gel ear buds came with the package, with no plastic in sight.
The earbuds have Active Noise Cancellation, Echo Noise Cancellation and Audio Passthrough mode which means they cut out pretty much every bit of background noise and make for a rich listening experience. I plugged myself in on a recent train trip to London and nothing, not even screaming kids on holiday, seeped in over the ANC.
Swap to ENC however and the headphones focus on your voice, which means I could make calls and not sound like I was stuck down the bottom of a well.
My House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds were tested out not just commuting on trains but also on holiday camping, where I had a gorgeous afternoon, lying on a rug in the sunshine listening to Spotify.
The buds are super comfy, the sound's incredible and I love the fact that even something small like your headphones can help plant trees and give back.
I'm trying to make each item I own the most ethical I can, so these feel guilt free and pair perfectly with my secondhand iPhone from reboxed.
It's easy to not lose your spot in a podcast, because the earpods are touch sensitive - take one out to answer someone calling for you and they'll pause and restart immediately when you have both in.
How to charge House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds
House of Marley make it easy to charge these babies - via wireless charging or USBC. Just a 15 minute charge gives you two hours of playback, which is handy like if you're like me, and always forget to charge your headphones. The case will also charge the buds on the move, meaning you've got 24 hours of audio pleasure. They also have a two year guarantee which makes me feel like they're going to last.
There's an app!
There's always an app. It's easy to sync the headphones to the House of Marley app, where you can save exactly how you like your music - a tweak of bass here and there, and lock in your settings in terms of noise cancellation and you can change the touch controls to suit you. It's handy if you're constantly having to switch between various uses and modes.
Giving back to conservation programmes | Made of recycled and sustainable materials | Cheaper than Apple
Headphones are hard to recycle currently but this applies to all brands
