We’ve all been in the same position this year.
Wanting to take the dog on hols but actually finding somewhere that will welcome your four legged family member with open arms and where you’ll also feel relaxed can be a challenge.

1. Juniper Shepherd’s Hut

Make your glamping with the dog even more eco-friendly at this oh so cute shepherd’s hut which sits in The Emerald, an award-winning zero carbon eco development set in five acres of gorgeous countryside, just north of Falmouth.
Your dog will love it at The Emerald, which offers up wildflower meadows, ponds and plenty of secret pathways to explore away from traffic and other people, while you’ll probably love the on site swimming pool, gym and tennis courts.
While the shepherd’s hut is small, every inch has been cleverly designed and hand built so you’ve got a luxurious double bed that folds away, a kitchen, bathroom and loo plus a log burner to stay toasty in winter.
Take the dog on a long walk via the coastal path towards the Helford River valley or head to Truro for foodie delights before retreating to sit outside your dog friendly shepherd’s hut to watch the stars come out with a G&T in hand.
2. Wildwood Hideaway

If you’re looking for a spot of forest bathing and want a remote spot to enjoy the woods with your dog, then this half barrel shaped wood cabin at Wildwood Hideaway hits the spot.
This dog friendly glamping option is surrounded by 200 acres of woodland and parkland, which you can admire from your hammock or just sitting amongst the trees outside your cabin.
But this is no roughing it style forest escape.
The handbuilt cabin comes with a fully stocked kitchen, proper shower and super comfy bed and sofa in front of a log burner. Colourful throws and carefully chosen homewares make this a much loved space.
Beyond the woods, take the dog to nearby Wadebridge or hit Cornwall’s popular Camel Trail to Padstow or Bodmin or take the pooch for a potter along some of the South West Coast Path which runs from Wales to the south coast.

3. Tresahor Lodge

Tresahor Lodge is a spectacular and really special family suitable glamping option that brilliantly allows dogs. Set in an old granite quarry, this fairy tale style wooden lodge sits near a deep lake where you can hire pedalos, sun yourself on the beach or even fish.
Test out your off-grid, eco lodge dreams here, the space fits four and a dog plus it has a ‘hobbit’ style barbeque hut so you can rustle up fire-based meals any month of the year or dine overlooking the lake.
Explore the south west’s Helford Valley in Cornwall, with the Lizard peninsula a stone’s throw away. Buy in local provisions in the excellently stocked village, Constantine, and have yourselves and doggo – a jolly old fashioned adventure.
4. Barefoot Hobie

Barefoot Hobie is a dog friendly safari tent that’s perfect for families.
Set in plenty of wide open space, a seven acre wildflower meadow, there’s enough room for the dog and kids to run off some energy while you relax and take in the pretty Cornish countryside.
This is proper posh glamping.
The safari tent has a Scandi feel with wooden floorboards, throws and gorgeously designed furniture, this is no shabby chic affair.
Everything here feels like something from a magazine shoot, from the soft fluffy towels to the cute enamel mugs.
There are two bedrooms, another cabin bed in the living room, a wet room and a wood fired range.
Rustle up breakfast from the on site honesty shop, stocked with local Cornish essentials from eggs and milk to ice cream or end the day round the firepit toasting marshmallows.
Take the dog to nearby beaches at Poldhu or just head out on a long dog walk across the fields to one of great local pubs.
5. Coastal Gaze

Dog friendly glamping AND a sea view in Cornwall? Now you’re talking.
This spacious wooden glamping pod on a hill just north of Penzance ticks all the boxes.
There are three high end dog-friendly glamping lodges here at Mount’s Bay Meadow Glamping, all private and spaced out with loads of room for doggo to run off steam.
Each pod is more roomy than it looks with room for four people, a fully stocked kitchenette, super toasty bathroom – there’s no having to find shoes to go outside for a wee in the night here!
Explore the west coast of Cornwall, you’ve got Sennen Cove, Gwithian or Porthmeor beaches on your doorstep or the 12-mile St Michael’s Way footpath for a good old fashioned walk and plenty of medieval pubs, pretty towns and you literally overlook St Micheal’s Mount.
