Dine in an Arctic restaurant on skis

News

Dine deep in the Arctic wilderness this winter at the Aurora Hideaway. A new private dining experience, this cute shed of a restaurant comes on skis and serves up locally sourced Swedish delicacies cooked over an open fire.

Off the Map Travel has created this new experience for this winter for people who want to explore a more remote part of the Arctic (and possibly even see the Northern Lights).

The tiny restaurant welcomes private diners with an open fire and candlelight before serving up foraged mushroom soup topped with smoked salmon, served with sourdough bread. Follow it with barbequed reindeer steak and wild herbs and blueberry and meringue pie served with warm vanilla sauce, in true Swedish style.

The Aurora Hideaway dining experience is available from December through to April, and can be enjoyed by diners as for a romantic meal, or groups (maximum of ten) to enjoy a memorable social gathering.

You can also combine it with an ice tasting menu at the Icehotel Kiruna (Sweden), fine dining cuisine and cooking workshops at Camp Ripan in Kiruna (Sweden) and a King Crab Safari in Honningsvåg near Tromso (Norway).
