What about plastic packaging?
Neal’s Yard Remedies is taking further steps to remove plastic from its products and packaging.
It was the first UK brand to get the Look for the Zero label which certified that there was zero plastic in its products.
In fact, the brand has steered clear of plastic microbeads from the beginning and is on a mission to help #BanTheBead in the EU where they’re still legal despite promises to phase them out.
In terms of packing, any plastic Neal’s Yard Remedies does use is produced by a select number of suppliers who have signed up to Operation Clean Sweep, an industry standard that ensures there’s no plastic pellet loss during manufacture and transport.
The brand’s aim is to use packaging that has an average of 30% recycled plastic with all plastic bottles being made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) before then.
Currently, all blue plastic hair, shower and skincare bottles up to 300ml are made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials.
